Election uncertainty cast a longer shadow over construction activity than initially anticipated. Starts contracted, as expected, in the second quarter of 2015 as clients held off from starting new schemes in the immediate run up to the General Election. However, project starts remained subdued in the third quarter and had only just begun to revive during the closing months of the year. Looking ahead, we anticipate the recent upturn to gather momentum over the coming year, with project starts forecast to rise by 6% in 2016. .
