GB Building Solutions (GB Group Holdings Ltd)

GB Group Holdings Ltd and GB Building Solutions were placed into administration on 9th March 2015. BDO LLP has been appointed as administrators and is seeking to find potential purchasers for the group’s subsidiary businesses, including GB Development Solutions Limited and Oxford GB2 Limited, which have currently not been placed in administration. 

The company had grown rapidly in recent years and has a substantial volume of work currently on site. Glenigan data shows that the group was awarded 21 projects with a total value of £815 million since the start of 2014. Construction News has reported that a number of leading contractors are speaking to clients about taking on disrupted projects. Project details can be found via the project tab on the left.

GB Group, formerly Gleeson Building, was formed from the management buy-out of MJ Gleeson Plc’s building division in 2005.

The group focused on construction, development, IT, energy, asset management and management services across a range of sectors. Its key markets cover care, residential, student accommodation, commercial, education and hotels & leisure.

The firm operated from seven offices across England and Wales and generated over 74% of its workload through repeat business and it had a growing portfolio of frameworks. Headquartered in Sunbury, Surrey, the group employs around 340 people and had a turnover of  around £200 million in 2013 . Its other offices are in Newcastle, Manchester & Stockport, Wakefield, Rugby and Deeside.
